Drivers
Vanture Campers may only be driven by authorised drivers named on the booking, each holding a valid driver's licence. The primary renter is the authorised driver, and any additional drivers must be notified to Vanture Campers in advance and approved before pickup.
BC drivers: provide your BC driver's licence number and date of birth so you can be listed on our ICBC insurance policy.
Drivers from outside BC (including international drivers): you must create a free ICBC online profile prior to pickup, or on the day of pickup if collecting at the airport. You must also provide a clear photo of your home jurisdiction's driver's licence.
A valid credit card must be produced at the time of rental for the damage deposit. Drivers under the age of 21 are not eligible to rent from Vanture Campers.
Insurance
Basic Third Party Liability is mandatory at $15/night. Full Comprehensive and Collision insurance is available as an add-on for an additional $10/night.
Drivers are fully responsible for any damage incurred during the rental period and for all associated fees including insurance excess, loss of use, diminution of value, and other recoverable costs.
Insurance coverage applies within Canada and the United States only. Travel into Mexico is by special request and must be confirmed in writing prior to pickup.
Payment
50% of the booking cost is taken to confirm the booking. The remaining balance and damage deposit are taken at the time of pickup.
Damage Deposit
A refundable damage deposit of $750 (basic insurance) or $500 (with full comprehensive) is held on the renter's credit card at the time of pickup. Funds are returned within 10 business days of drop-off, provided the vehicle and contents are returned in working order.
Cancellations & Refunds
Cancellations more than 14 days prior to pickup will be refunded in full, less processing fees.
Cancellations within 14 days of pickup will be charged 50% of the invoice.
Cancellations within 24 hours of pickup will be charged 75% of the invoice.
There are no refunds for early returns.
Pickup & Drop-Off
Pickup is from 3:00 PM. Vehicles must be returned by 12:00 PM on the day of drop-off. Late drop-offs incur a $100 fee.
Pickup locations: Whistler (Creekside or Day Lots), Vancouver Downtown ($250), Vancouver Airport YVR ($350).
Rental Period
The minimum rental period is 4 nights. Long-term rentals (30+ days) are subject to additional conditions.
Kilometre Allowance
Each rental includes 300 km/day standard allowance. Excess kilometres charged at $0.30/km. Unlimited kilometres available for $7.50/day.
Fuel Policy
Vehicle supplied with a full tank at pickup and must be returned with a full tank. Failure to refuel results in cost of fuel plus $100 refuelling fee.
Routes & Restrictions
Vehicles may be driven on regular roads within Canada and the United States. Off-road driving is not permitted. Mexico travel by special request only.
Lost Keys
Damage deposit forfeited in full. Additional costs charged to credit card on file.
Smoking & Pets
No smoking inside the vehicles ($250 fee applies). Pets permitted with prior approval, $100 cleaning fee.
Tolls, Fines & Additional Charges
Tolls passed through plus $35 admin fee. Traffic fines passed through plus $100 admin fee. Excessively dirty returns subject to $150 cleaning fee. Booking changes incur $10 change fee.
Damage & Accidents
Renter is responsible for all charges arising from accidents or damage caused by renter fault, including loss of use, diminution of value, and tow and storage fees. Police reports must be filed immediately and Vanture Campers notified as soon as possible.
Waiver of Liability
The renter is responsible for all personal contents left in the vehicle. Renters, family members and guests hold harmless Vanture Campers from any liability or personal injury related to the rental, use or operation of the vehicle. A separate Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims and Indemnity Agreement must be signed at pickup.
Privacy (PIPEDA Compliance)
Personal information collected is used solely for processing your booking, verifying driver eligibility, communicating about the rental, recovering charges authorised under these Terms, and complying with legal obligations. Information may be disclosed to ICBC, Stripe, law enforcement (where legally required), insurers and toll authorities. We do not sell or rent personal information for marketing purposes.
